A red hair smile

I was experimenting while painting this red haired hottie over here:

So, what do you think? Wanna see what I did with her?... I mean, while painting? *nudge, nudge, wink, wink* OK, here it goes:

1) sketch and color palette
2) skin color block in
3) shadows
4) details
5) hair
6) clothes and light. White BG
7) copy that in a new layer above, desaturate it, levels and overlay.
8) got it's opacity down a bit
9) painted some white stroke for glows
10) that's how the white stroke would look like. Then I give it some blur, overlay and opacity

Any doubts? It's kinda simple if you follow my process, isn't it?

Yes, I decided to add the whole instagram display and everything cuz I just felt like it would be nicer like this. Anyway, Heres the walkthru process I did on this one:

Hipsta Zombie Killa walkthru

Yep, this is how I colored her in a few easy steps:

1) got her and leveled the blacks
2) extracted the oultine from the scan (dyed it afterwards)
3) Got the flats done (trying to mix'em with sum color background getting their opacity a little lower)
4) Added the "light" colors
5) Midtones (here I dyed the outline a little darker than the flats)
6) Shines and red cheeks and nose
7) Color filter (blue-purple on the feet, a little green on her right...)
8) Sum intense light yellow on her face with the overlay blending mode, the smoke and sum details (
9) Black Background and sum green to separate it. Also a white stroke by hand.

tah-daaaaah!!

Hope this helps a little bit to understand this color process.

Hasta siempre y adelante!
